In this video, you will learn about linear scars. There are many different types of scars that can exist on your skin. The first type of scar is defined are keloids. These are scars that spread beyond the point of the original trauma.
Hypertrophic scars are next and they stay within the bounds of trauma. Both scars alike are present when there has been imminent trauma to the skin. For example, if you have a cut on your skin, and the scar is extending far beyond the area that was injured, this is defined as a keloid scar. These two types of scars are very similar so when you are receiving treatment, it is going to be mostly the same. A specialist will be able to more closely determine if there are different types of treatments needed. Interestingly enough, the type of scar that is on your body may be the result of genetics. If you are more likely to get keloid scars, then your children most likely will too. It is your body’s way of healing the skin.
